Nicholas Tolle was born in St. Louis, Missouri in 1983. Nicholas completed his undergraduate studies at The Boston Conservatory and his graduate studies at the Conservatorium van Amsterdam. He has participated in festivals such as the Tanglewood Music Center (2006-2007), Lucerne Festival Academy (2005-2008), the Carnegie Hall Professional Training Workshop (2006), and the Aspen Festival (2004-2005). He has also performed with the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra, Boston Modern Orchestra Project, Collage New Music, and the Nederlands Radio Kamer Philharmonie. Recently he was invited as a guest teacher to the Hochschule für Musik in Detmold, Germany. Nicholas has commissioned and premiered dozens of new works for percussion and has worked with composers such as Milton Babbitt, Pierre Boulez, Peter Eotvos, and Steve Reich.
